Dontari Poe took less money to play for the Atlanta Falcons

Poe had been a fan favorite of Kansas City Chiefs fans.

However, when Kansas City Chiefs free agent Dontari Poe was open to a visit, there was no reason for the team to say no.

Pioli is an executive in the Falcons front office alongside Thomas Dimitroff, the team's general manager. But at the end of the day, he made a decision to take a one-year "prove-it" deal with the Falcons, whose assistant general manager - Scott Pioli - selected Poe with the 11th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft back when he was general manager of the Chiefs.

Poe joined the Chiefs as their first-round draft pick in 2012.

The data, he added, also suggests that oil prices around $50 a barrel are encouraging the restart of idled US shale oil output. US April crude futures fell 68 cents , or 1.4%, to settle at $US47.72 a barrel in NY , for a seventh straight session decline.

However, while he can certainly become one of the league's top run-stoppers, if he hasn't done so already, Poe has the ability to rush the passer as well.

"In this system, to be disruptive, we'd play him at both nose and 3-technique", Quinn said.

Poe, 26, took multiple free-agent visits over the last week, traveling to Indianapolis, Atlanta, Jacksonville and Miami.

This past year, Poe had 1.5 sacks, three passes defensed and one forced fumble. "He will add to our defensive line group and will mix nicely with (Vic) Beasley, (Grady) Jarrett, Shelby and (Adrian) Clayborn". That notion is evident by his performance from the 2014-2015 season as he posted a single-season career-high six sacks. He has passing and rushing touchdowns to his credit throughout his career.
