UVa's Curry School ranked 18th nationally

The magazine issues annual rankings for law, business, engineering, nursing and medical schools. The jump into the top 100 comes nearly four years after the university bought the downtown law school from Texas Wesleyan University for $73.2 million.

It tied with Brooklyn Law School, St. Louis University and University of SC in the annual rankings released Tuesday.

Texas A&M joins other Texas law schools in the top 100. It ranks as the nation's 24th best public law school.

Harvard University was ranked first, followed by Stanford University and, in a three-way tie for third, UCLA, the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

To determine the rankings, U.S. News surveyed all 471 MBA programs in business accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International, with 377 responding. Our graduate programs include a Master of Arts in Management, Master of Science in Accountancy, Master of Science in Business Analytics, and a Master of Business Administration.

Curry also saw five of its programs ranked in the top 10 nationally: special education at No. 4, elementary education (No. 6), secondary education (No. 9), administration and supervision (No. 10) and education policy (tied for No. 10). Several specialty programs in the School of Medicine were also ranked: Internal Medicine (fifth); Geriatrics (tied for fifth); Family Medicine (ninth).

CSU's Professional Veterinary Medicine Program, its vet school, is now ranked No. 3 in the nation, based on the most recent ranking in 2015 by U.S. News and World Report; it has held a spot among the top three vet schools for at least two decades.

The School of Informatics and Computing at IU Bloomington is ranked ninth in U.S. News' listing of top library and information studies graduate programs. Last year, the merged law school debuted on the list at No. 92, though Rutgers officials said the full impact of the merger was not reflected in the data collected by U.S. News at the time. These rankings were among the largest, in terms of number of colleges rated. "Along with our Online MBA program, it will be instrumental in helping us reach new markets of working professionals and distance learners as we fulfill our mission to prepare the next generation of business leaders for lives of principled achievement". The new edition features information and rankings across six disciplines - business, law, engineering, education, medicine and nursing. "It is truly gratifying to know that the high value of our MBA degree is recognized at a national level".
