State losses make MCD polls crucial for AAP

It is nowhere on the horizon in Goa, and has been pushed back to at least the second spot in Punjab, where the Congress is romping home to victory. The poll projects 63 seats for AAP in the house of 117. "We respect the people's decision".

Congress' Captain Amarinder Singh said the AAP bubble has been burst with their outright rejection by the Punjab voters, he said, adding that the Moga blast, coupled with the alleged AAP extremist links, had also worked against Kejriwal's party. Ap-art from this, the party's inability to open an acco-unt in Goa is bound to have a bearing on the crucial civic polls in the city, political experts said. Two years after the party won 67 out of 70 seats in the assembly whitewash, the Sandhya Times took a survey on issues like corruption, women's safety and Jan Lokpal Bill. Finishing off at 20 seats in Punjab has come as a rude shocker to the party, which had been banking on its win in the state and taking forward the spirits of its cadre to contest the civic polls in the city, due in April.

Only six out of 81 women candidates managed to register a win in the Punjab Assembly results 2017 announced on Saturday.

The scene was altogether different in Goa, where the AAP had set out to give a tough fight to the ruling BJP and the Congress.

Jets sign LT Kelvin Beachum, kicker Chandler Catanzaro
Beachum, 27, signed a one-year deal with a four-year option with the Jaguars last March and earned $5 million in 2016. The Jets also struck a deal with Tanner Purdum , re-signing the team's long-time long snapper.

It's safe to say that there are many lessons for the ruling party in Delhi. A party worker said that the poor performance in the state elections is bound to dampen the spirits of the workers, who would have got a shot in their arms with the win. "The struggle would continue", he tweeted.

After facing a disappointing performance in Goa and Punjab Assembly elections, AAP head honcho Arvind Kejriwal stated that their struggle will continue in the nation. "We are disappointed with the results".

Party workers had gathered outside Kejriwal's residence, but as the trends indicated that party was not winning any of the two states, the crowd started ebbing. In hindsight, if AAP had not contested the election in Punjab, it could have been a far closer election than the result suggests.
