Tollywood actress Bhavana Menon, who recently exchanged the rings with long-time beau Naveen, has opened up on her secret engagement saying she didn't want the function to be publicised and hence kept it a low-key affair.
A source close to Bhavana said that the engagement was a small function and took place at her home in Kochi on Thursday.
Naveen was an actor before he turned producer.
Bhavana, who has been active in South Indian film industry, is now shooting for Malayalam film "Adam Joan", which has Prithviraj opposite her.
Pope Francis: Married men could become priests
In the United States, the celibacy requirement is partly what sets priests apart from clergy in Protestant denominations. Despite that aforementioned "enormous" priest shortage, Pope Francis did not mention opening the priesthood up to women.
Bhavana's close friends from the movie industry, Manju Warrier and Samyuktha Varma attended the engagement ceremony. Directed by Jinu Abraham and produced by Stanly C S and Jose Simon, the film stars Prithviraj in the main lead.
Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran congratulated the newly engaged couple on Facebook, stating: "Congrats to the newly engaged couple!"
"No two ways about it, the best couple in recent times". However, they never commented on their either of relationship.
As per local news reports, actress Bhavana made it clear that she plans to tie the knot this year itself. However, it didn't happen due to other commitments. According to reports, Bhavana will continue acting post wedding.
