Delhi Police recovers Satyarthi's Nobel Prize replica

Satyarthi had on Saturday said he was pained by the theft of his Nobel citation and the ornaments given to his wife by his mother as they were precious to the family. Therefore, they couldn't dispose it off.

The three used to stay in the slum next to the area earlier, and were well aware of the area's topography.

"We are questioning them and are also trying to retrace the events that might have unfolded that night".

However, the police noted that the citation was not among the items recovered from Vinod (35), Sonu (28) and Rajan (25). The police are still conducting raids to trace the citation. "The house was inspected by the crime team and the photographs of scene of crime were taken", said DCP (southeast) Romil Baaniya. "They should not have stolen the citation as it is of national importance". The Nobel prize has been stolen five times in world history.

The accused belong to Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. They then shifted to Sangam Vihar but the brothers continued to work in the apartment area as construction workers or painters. "CCTV footage showed the trio entered the apartment at 1.07 am in the intervening night on Feb 7 and 8 and left at 3.53am", said Baaniya. "I request the accused and ask them to return what is our nation's pride", Satyarthi said according to DNA.

Calling the burglary an unfortunate incident, Satyarthi appealed to people to understand the value of the Nobel Prize and thanked the Delhi Police for its speedy recovery.
